FAQ
Is getting a tattoo/piercing/pmu painful?
Every tattoo causes a bit of pain. Certain spots will be more painful than others, and at times, you might feel it a bit, but all tattoos are bearable otherwise, many people wouldn't be heavily tattooed. To reduce the discomfort and anxiety of getting a tattoo, it's fashionable to remain relaxed and avoid tensing up, breathe slowly, and acknowledge that there will be some pain. Ensure you are dressed in comfortable clothing and that you have eaten well and rested properly the night before.
What is the healing time for a tattoo/pmu?
The typical recovery period for a tattoo lasts between 7 and 14 days. This doesn't imply pain for 14 days, but you might experience some itchiness and scabbing. Every artist will give you appropriate aftercare guidelines for the tattoo you are receiving. Typically, the most effective guidance is to maintain cleanliness by washing with hot water and a natural, fragrance-free soap for the initial days, followed by using a recommended aftercare cream to hydrate the healing tattoo. Avoid removing the scabs from a healing tattoo, as this can lead to color fading and uneven healing. Avoid long exposure to water for 14 days after getting a new tattoo, meaning no swimming or extended baths. Showers are good, however. It's recommended to protect any tattoo from sunlight and consistently apply sunscreen with a factor of 50.
